Timeline for 2011
Background to the 2011 conference Scientists were invited to help shape the programme of The EMBO Meeting 2011 in Vienna (10 - 13 September 2011) by contributing to the concurrent workshop sessions.
As a broad-scope life science conference, the objective of The EMBO Meeting is to offer a European forum for scientific exchange where participants are exposed to new perspectives from any number of specialties, encouraging them to look beyond the boundaries of their own fields.
Scientists with ideas on new perspectives on any life science topic of interest to broad audiences were invited to submit proposals. Single workshops as well as a series of related workshops held over consecutive days during the conference could be proposed. The conference organizers were looking for quality sessions covering novel developments in both mainstream as well as not-so-mainstream subject areas, in both basic and applied life science research. Proposed speakers could be from anywhere in the world, ready to present to a multidisciplinary audience.
Who could propose a workshop? Proposals were welcome from scientists working in both academic and industry settings. Young scientists were strongly encouraged to participate actively in The EMBO Meeting 2011. One of the selected workshops will be reserved for organization by PhD students and post-doc groups.
A call for workshop proposals for The EMBO Meeting 2012 will be announced in due course.
