The venue, Austria Center Vienna (ACV) is located in the Donau City district of Vienna and is easily accessible by public transport from the city centre, main railway stations and the international Airport. The price information below was correct at time of publication - 10 May 2011.


  • The easiest, most direct way to the conference venue is by the Vienna Airport Lines buses (operated by POSTBUS).
  • The buses depart from the airport arrivals area (Ankunftsebene) hourly from 07:10 until 20:10. Busline 1183 "Kagran – Schwechat". Buses leave punctually from "Ebene 4".
  • It takes approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic.
  • The stop for the ACV is Wien Kaisermühlen VIC (Wagramer Straße) - the 3rd stop.
  • One-way ticket: €7.00
  • Return ticket: €12.00

  • The Schnellbahn (S-Bahn / suburban railway) is the cheapest way to get to the city centre
  • One-way ticket: €3.60 (including onward journey on public transport) 
  • Ticket machines are on the platforms at the airport
  • From the airport station, take the S-Bahn (direction Wien Floriansdorf) to Wien Mitte / Landstrasse (central Vienna) and change for the underground services.
  • The journey to the city centre takes approximately 30 minutes

  • The CAT (City Airport Train) is the quickest way to get to the city centre, the journey takes 16 minutes
  • One-way ticket: €9.00 (NOT including onward journey on public transport)
  • Return ticket: €16:00 (NOT including onward journey on public transport)

  • Follow the green CAT signs to get to the CAT platform, take the CAT to Wien Mitte (central Vienna) and change for the underground services at Wien Mitte / Landstrasse.

  • The City of Vienna has a very good public transportation network, thanks to the underground (U-Bahn), tram and bus network run by Wiener Linien.
  • The venue is located close to the red U-Bahn line U1
  • To get to The EMBO Meeting venue from Wien Mitte / Landstrasse take the U-Bahn U3 (orange line) direction Ottakring to Stephansplatz
  • Change to U-Bahn U1 (red line) at Stephansplatz direction Leopoldau to The EMBO Meeting stop at Kaisermühlen-VIC
  • Depart train and take the Schüttaustrasse exit and turn right and head up the red & white steps to the Austria Center, follow the signs to the The EMBO Meeting.
  • Journey time is about 15 minutes.
  • Tickets: Single trip: €1.80 // 24 hour: €5.70 // 72 hour: €13.60 - available from ticket offices, ticket machines & tobacconists. Tickets are valid on the U-Bahn, trams and buses
  • Vienna Card: €18.50 is the ideal tourist ticket: a 72-hour rover ticket with discounts and benefits at tourist attractions - available from ticket offices and hotels.

  • Taxis are naturally available outside the airport (take the exit in direction of K3, next to the arrival hall). The price for a journey to the ACV is approximately €45.00 and takes approximately 40 minutes; a trip to the city centre costs around €40.00 and takes about 45 minutes depending on traffic.

By car, the ACV is an approximate 25 minutes' drive from the airport on the A4 motorway depending on traffic and it takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the city centre via the Reichsbrücke bridge from the ACV.

Parking: There are approximately 1,000 parking spaces at the ACV.  Please note a charge of €3 for the first hour and then an additional €1 per hour or alternatively €10 for a day ticket until midnight.
