Career Development Print E-mail

An important part of The EMBO Meeting is career skill development for young scientists - PhD students and early post-docs - who will soon face the decision whether to pursue a career within or outside of academia.

A whole range of career activities will be organised for this audience - from skills development workshops, informal discussion sessions and mentoring sessions, to a job market where vacant positions are advertised.

Saturday, 10 September will be Career Day - a whole day dedicated to those who wish to develop skills to manage their research projects more efficiently, and to communicate their research successfully, and for those who are thinking about starting a career outside academia. Click here for full details about Saturday's programme.

There will also be a "Pursuing an academic career" session on Monday, 12 September - up to ten participants and two mentors will be seated for round table discussions per topic. Each mentor will provoke discussion, answer your questions and recommend appropriate resources. This mentoring session is organised by the former ELSO Career Development Committee (CDC). This session is already fully booked.
